    A one day course for food handlers


    Course description

    This course givies a qualification to food handlers by the Royal Environmental Institute of Scotland which is nationally recognised by all sectors of the food industry. Delegates are given six hours of tuition and must successfully complete a multiple choice question paper on the day to achieve the certificate.

    The course covers:

     Bacteria and how it affects food

    Food pests and their control

    Cleaning practices

    Hygiene and habits of food handlers

    Hygiene in the preparation, cooking and storage of food and current food legislation.

    We operate a waiting list system for this type of course. To book a place on it, contact Admissions, The NHC-Thurso on 01847 889250 or info@northhighland.ac.uk. If a course is not scheduled to be held in the near future, we will hold your name on the list until we have sufficient to run the course.
