    Course description

    Who can join?

    There are no formal entry requirements for this course but students must be in suitable employment and be aged 19 at the time of the examination held in May and December each year. You should hold the qualification st stage 1 level to enable you to progress to stage 2. You can join this course at any time, as the course is flexible and could take 6 - 12 months, although it could be completed in less.

    How do I attend?

    Both courses are available on a day or blcok release basis for those working in industry. The theory parts of Stages 1 and 2 can be done by open learning and are available online. Attendance on a block release or day release basis is required for the practical aspects of the courses, alternatively it is possible to organise assessment in work-based situations.

    What will I study?

    You will study radiation and contamination monitoring with the methods of protection and control in the nuclear industry. Tutorial support is provided for online study.
