Who can join?
Access is planned to be as flexible as possible, allowing entry to candidates from a wide range of backgrounds.
Normally the entry for the HNC would be 1 or 2 Highers at level C or above,or the equivalent, N/SVQ at Level 3 or an NC in Golf Studies, Sport and Leisure or Greenkeeping.
Mature students may have suitable work experience to allow entry to this course.
How do I attend?
One academic year for full time, longer part time. The course is available online for the part time option, studying through a virtual learning environment.
What will I study?
The units and modules studied represent a balanced approach both to modern management theory and contemporary golf facility practice. Throughout the course, students undertake field trips and practical classes, to ensure that theory and practice are combined within the learning process.
What could I do next?
Successful completion of could allow entry to Year 2 of the BA Honours course.
Opportunities include employment in golf or sports and leisure industries with Career opportunities are enhanced. Successful achievement can lead to employment in a variety of golf administration and managerial capacities.

Course Fees for Part Time Students
The units which count towards this qualification are available on an individual basis, making it possible for part time students to gather sufficient units to achieve the award, albeit over a longer period.
You may not have to pay any fees for these units if you qualify for a fee waiver, for instance if you are eligible for certain benefits. See the college's Fee Waiver Policy in the resources area of the website.
It is possible to use an Individual Learning Account (ILA)to pay for these units as you come to study them.
Part time students may also possible qualify for the ILA500, which is a £500 grant for students studying HNC, HND, Degree and taught Postgraduate courses. You must study units totally 40 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework (SCQF) credits or more a year.
