An evening or day time class in Thurso or Wick to provide an introduction

    Course description

This class aims to provide an introduction to basic drawing and painting techniques. You will be encouraged to develop your own style and preference: you may wish to concentrate on landscapes, abstract design, watercolours or pen and ink. Students provide their own kit— you will be advised on the first day of the class what you require.

It is frequently run as part of our evening or day time class provision in Wick, and our evening provision in Thurso. Further details giving start date, day and time are given in the Evening/Day Class brochures for Wick and Thurso, published in July and December each year. Contact Admissions by telephone 01847 889250 or email info@northhighland.ac.uk to have your name added to the mailing list for these brochures. The brochures are also available to download from the website from July and December onwards.

Once you have completed this introductory course, you may wish to move on to one of the other classes which are available by day or evening, including the study unit "Painting Techniques".  This course is also normally offered as part of our evening class provision, and may be available in September and/or February each year. Further details of the evening classes offered are given in the brochures available to download from the Resources area of the website. They are also published twice per year in July and late November, contact Admissions on 01847 889250, email info@northhighland.ac.uk to have your name added to the mailing list.

In addition there are a number of study units available which count towards the National Certificate Art and Creative Studies which can be studied on a part-time basis. Contact Admissions by telephone 01847 889250 or email info@northhighland.ac.uk for more information.
